Since the part you mention is also found on every 70-81 Camaro and Firebird as well as millions of other GM cars, you may consider checking with GM parts suppliers.
Sorta odd, but it may help.

Yeah, rag joint is'nt really a good description...Yes, GMs have a "rag" joint....This is called an isolator...It's molded with metal inserts and is much thicker than the GM pieces...I would'nt use anything but the real deal there...Do you still have the heat shield for it ??? Anyhow...You're in luck here's the link... BPE

Glad to help...They're not cheap{what is these days} but even the factory pieces were around 75 bucks when they were available then when they started to get hard to find the gouging began with stupid prices...Boneyard pieces are always shot...I'm just glad BPE stepped up and made them...Take your time and work the factory hardware off the piece to reuse...

OK, here's the deal...When you replace the isolator you'll possibly need to move the steering column back a little for working room... This would involve unbolting the column at the dash frame and the 3 bolts on the firewall..IIRC you just need a little room and you probably would'nt need to unhook any wiring from the column...

While you're right there I'd suggest getting a kit for the steering coupler {right above the isolator} it's cheap and you'd need to repack the coupler at the very least anyhow...
Here's a link to a typical kit for rebuilding the coupler... LINK It has everything you need to replace all the worn parts in there...

And on that note : here's a breakdown showing the correct orientation of the shoes in the coupler...They go in easier the WRONG way {sideways} than the correct way...I'm guilty of doing it myself and it's easy to get it wrong if not paying attention...
