earthmover OP top fuel E Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 2,449 nc	i am about ready to order my new unit but have some ???? about the gears....looking in some books it was saying that the gears don't last as long in the aluminum center section ...why is this?????how many passes are you guys getting form yours??????i want the weight saving but also want something that's going to last....this is a 73 duster chssis car with a 451/727 glass frontend ,doors,deck lid, and bumpers all glass..will be on alky with nos..... going to try some grudge stuff and whatever else i can fit in Last edited by earthmover; 09/14/13 03:23 PM.

My 8.75 aluminum center has never been a problem with pro gears in it. "Follow me the wise man said, but he walked behind" '92 D250 Club Cab CTD, 47RH conversion, pump tweaks, injectors, rear disc and hydroboost conversion. '74 W200 Crew Cab 360, NV4500, D44, D60 and NP205 divorced transfer case. Rear disc and hydroboost conversion. 2019 1500 Long Horn Crew Cab 4WD, 5.7 Hemi.

I did change ring and pinions after 20 runs, the carrier was always solid with no trouble. I have one 9" and one 9.5" rear, 40 spines. Pretty much bullet proof in my car, it went .910-920 60 foots.
