Im gathering parts to build a little r/t killer v6 and was wondering if you guys could help me on a cam size. I know finding a cam for this motor is almost impossible so i was just gonna have one reground. Heres what im gonna put together: 2000 3.9 block, 9:1 forged pistons, stock rods and crank,r/t valves, heads cleaned up and mild port job,1.6 roller rockers, cut back the intake runners and smooth inside of the stock intake, modified v6 throttle body,24lb injectors, sct tuner, cold air intake, accel coil, wires, cap rotor kit, headers, single 3" exhaust with high flow cat,2400 stall converter and 3.55 gears. i have a zex 75hp nitrous kit also that im toying with putting on it. So what do you guys ting about a cam size/valve spring size? Im shooting for around 250-275 hp at the crank without the spray

I feel the weakest part is going to be the intake.

I've got a 5.9 with ported Magnum heads, 2.02 valves and the Hughes 0814AL cam. The motor is real soft until 3000 rpm. Then from 3000 to 6000 it pulls real hard. Granted its in a 94 1500 4x4 with auto trans and 3.55 gears. I really think the intake is the issue and that the Hughes Air Gap would be the fix, but I don't need the truck anymore so its going down the road.

BTW, Hughes does list 3.9 Mag cams, you send your core and they send you one of their grinds.
