Hey guys Ive gotten most of my parts for the 74 gold duster.I should have the 340 this week from a member here so its time to start looking at rotisserie's.I'm too old to be crawling around underneath her .And the shrapnel wounds don't let me bend like I used too. So I'm gonna step up and get one.My question is who makes a quality one that you can control the roll and lock in place. Thanks

I got mine from Accessible Systems in Tennessee and would highly recommend them. Researched all major brands and I'm very happy with buying this one. Made in USA. They shipped it to the nearest UPS station and I picked it up from there. (cheaper shipping that way). It came on a pallet that UPS fork lifted right into the back of our pickup. Once the car is balanced, it is extremely easy to rotate. It is very easy to roll with the roller bearing casters it comes with. Casters also lock both front and back. I have never needed any ones help with any thing when using this. I also bought the attachment brackets with it. Very good price in comparison to the competition even with the extras. I especially like the spring loaded locking mechanism, and it also has additional locking bolts to prevent it from spinning when you don't want it to. However if it is correctly balanced, it wont rotate by itself no matter what position the car is in, without pushing on it.
They make a lot of different models and configurations depending on your preferences. I bought the AT+ lift and it handled my 71 B body Charger beautifully.

In the US ... Whirly Jig is by far the best unit on the market. I can find major faults with every other unit out there. Nothing life threatening but things that could have been done better. But Whirly Jig is about as close to perfect as you'll ever see.

I'd look for a used one if your not in a hurry.

I bought the auto twirler from a family welding shop on the west side of Indy.
It works great and now cost 400-500 bucks more than it did in 2004.

That's why I would suggest a used one since many have been sold since then and I would hope some of those cars are done now?

I also have one of the Accessible Systems in Tennessee 'Bottom's Up' rotisseries. Mine has the large pneumatic wheels, one end pivots and has a wagon type pull handle, I can easily move a car body outside and back in by myself.

I've had it since 1991 and it's had 1 '69 and 2 '67 B bodies on it. I bought mine as a DIY weld up kit.

I agree. Look for a used one. I recently sold my "Accessible Systems in Tennessee" for a lot less than a new one would cost. Had all the bells and whistles. The nice thing about this one is the fact that you can easily move it outdoors to do work on the vehicle.

I was wondering this myself. I've met John and he seems like a really good guy. But never seen anyone here use much of his stuff.

I built my own. I have $230.00 into mine. Including the casters & paint. Painted it Hemi orange just for the cool factor.

Since I have sold the orange one & now have another painted black. Just a little tip. I numbered all of the pieces. Makes it alittle easier when putting it back together.

I have an accessible one. Had a 69 z28 on it and pulled it around the driveway. Very slick. Once you get car centered it turns easy. I had both sets of tires. Only thing wished you could go lower to pick up car but they might all be similar

The us car tool one is supposed to be able to do that. A used one would be cool as far as money goes. Not in a hurry just trying to see what works and what doesn't.it will mainly be for the bee after the a-bodys are cleaned up.

How does the Auto Twirler compare with the Whirly Jig? I've seen the Auto Twirler in person and was impressed but have heard all good about Whirly Jig too.

All at least 1/8" thick tubing & 1/4" plate. I do get awesome deals on steel & aluminum though. Worked just fine for me. Went from this:

Get an Auto Twirler Pro. It has infinite adjustments for balance. It has bearings so it turns easy. All the clamps are two piece. So they clamp on snug. Most others just slide one tube square tube over another with lots of sag. You can get the Auto twirler Pro from Summit. Very reasonable shipping to your door step. Look on U-tube for some videos.
