I'm looking for a plug/block off for my 727 where the speedo cable would go. I put a freeze plug in it but it leaks and I'm tired of it. Anyone make something like this?

some types of freeze plugs are deeper than others. "Dorman" brand is good.

I used a rubber one. The kind that you turn the nut in the center and it expands in the hole. Never leaked as long as I had it. 5 or 6 years.

Look in the boneyards for an older International 4X4 truck trans/transfer assy. They have a trick speedo adapter with a cap on it.I have one in my toolbox at work leftover from my Mopar 4-speed transmissions.I will take a pic if I remember.

It would be sweet if someone would make a billet aluminum block off with an o-ring. They would sell a bunch of them.

With the metal washer behind the nut, when in place, that's all you see; a round metal plate with a nut in the center. Cheap, perfectly sealed, easily removed (if you ever need to) and rather clean looking IMHO. Paint it the color of your tranny if painted, or leave the bright zinc finish
