Where Can I find the Weight Difference Between a short Bed and Long Bed 1972 to 1980 Truck Bed?
If you don't mind me asking. Why do you want to know? I'm willing to take my short bed truck ('76 short bed) out to the weigh scale and have it weighed (he'll weigh it for nothing) for you if you can find some one else with a long bed to do the same. You've got to take into account that my truck has two tanks, and the weight of the gas in the frame tank could differ a bit.

I think it has something to do with a pulling truck. But that's only a guess. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif)

I have a 1975 Dodge Pulling Truck Club Cab 8 Foot Bed 149" Wheelbase.. My Promoter is talking about a Handicap of some sort for the Longer Truck..
What kind of handicap? That's interesting. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif) I agree with Sheldon that the regular cab is lighter but was there an advantage in your combo besides vehicle length?

If you do use the extended cab are you allowed to move the seat back toward the rear to get more weight towards mid frame?
Or would that not serve any advantage?
You could move the Seat back if You want.. But You really like to have the Weight on the Front of Truck

Tugging you use a Straight Bar or Chain.. There is no downward pull on Rear of Truck so it would be better to have weight on Rear..
Thanks for the info. I was just wondering when I see those trucks at truck nite doing the tug-o-war and see what it takes to really do it. I haven't seen anything too inventive other than added weight or a full on pulling truck with street tires. Really wondered how an aircraft tug would do or like those square buggies on the tarmac that push those 747's out. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif) There was a NWPA points pull at Yankee Lake tonite. Where you in that? ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif)
