with aluminum(indy) heads. who torques the studs? or do you finger tighten them? I remember years ago with my indy 360-1s I finger tightened them and they backed off in a final round costing us a race. I think I called indy and they said to torque then to 50 ft lbs. but can't remember.

If it's a 3/8 stud, 50# will pull out. I'd locktite them & torque to 35#.

50# is higher than a grade 8 calls for on torque..
locktite the studs and torque the nut to 30#-35# and
let the locktite set up before you loosen the nut..
I do screw the stud in by hand so its bottomed or
near the bottom for full thread contact
