I am sure that this has been asked here before, but my search did not produce results. Can anyone point me to some good reference pics for the 70 440+6 engine and engine compartment? Thanks.

You could go to the 70 Charger forum, in their pictures section they have quite a few 6 packs shown.

i can see a few errors on that pic without even looking closely-dipstick handle should be dipped in a lighter orange (chevy orange) as they were made by stant and supplied painted. incorrect hose clamps-should be corbin style. exhaust manifolds should have more orange on them as they were on when engine was painted. be careful on ingition wire brackets that were also on the engine before painting i think one goes on under head bolt on drivers side.
anyway-do a lot of research and be keep in mind engine assembly date as different things were done at different times throughout the year.

Thanks to all of you for this great information. I am not looking for a show winning 100% correct underhood restoration, but do want something that looks directionally original within my budget and capabilities.

I've got lots of closeup photos from my engine if you need them - just PM me for what you want. There are enough details on this engine to keep you busy for weeks!!! I certainly don't claim that mine is concours - but was as close as I could get it - based on a lot of research.

Ive heard the washers for the 6BBL intake are the same for the bumpers?
Can anyone verify this or have a source for them?
