..anybody figured out how to restore discolored plastic
back to a new white appearance.
..Have a nice '73 coolant overflow reservoir i'd like
to use.

Scrub with purple power and or soak in bleach if it is just surface discoloration. I suspect your are referring to age yellowing though, never heard of a way to reverse that in my years around cars.

Only thing I've personally used that worked good on white or clear is soaking in hydrogen peroxide out in the sun full strength.

interesting. I note the primary ingredients are peroxide and a UV lamp, similar to what the previous poster was on to with peroxide in sunlight. I'm skeptical about it on this application though. All of the pics from the wiki site are from opaque computer parts, whereas something like an overflow or wiper fluid tank is translucent in nature. Not sure how the peroxide could change the color of the plastic below the very surface.

would be an interesting experiment though.
