I built a 360 I planned to boost but am giving it to my folks instead, but I did have the chance to dyno it. It's a .030" magnum block, magnum R/T heads, very mildly ported with 2.00"/1.55" valves (LS1 stock valves, aka free), a comp hydraulic roller with 216/224 @.050 and .534" (.501" with 1.5 rockers), 114 lsa installed at 110 icl, edelbrock rpm air gap, 750 Holley DP and 1-5/8" primary tube headers. Powering the water pump and alternator as I was too lazy to take them off for the dyno, it put out 388hp with 31 degrees total timing. I had the rings gapped extra for boost and have KB inverted dome pistons in there giving about 9.0:1 cr. Killer flat powerband and I expect it'd make 500 with 6-8 lbs of boost. Won't likely ever find out now as it's going into a 2000 Dakota 4x4. Point being, this engine, designed for (light) boost, makes more power N/A. I think I would iron out the engine minus blower first, then go from there. I definitely agree that the heads are killing it. I doubt they flow over 200 cfm, and if they do, it isn't by much. My R/T's with the light buff I did were flowing about 240 at peak lift. After the freshen I did more extensive work with 2.02/1.60 and got them up to 275 or so. No dyno numbers now unfortunately. I'm less concerned with exhaust numbers. I do like to have as good an exhaust as possible, but I won't worry about the exit until I have all I can get out of the entrance. The exhaust will get out, it has to, it has nowhere else to go, but the more air you can cram into it, the more fuel you can burn and the more power you can make. Looking back at this post I wonder if anything I wrote will actually help...

If I read this correctly, it's 345ci with 8lbs boost and made 371hp.
I didn't think that was possible.
In the 80s, my brother's iron headed .030 over 340, with home ported iron heads, a flat solid cam in the .530 range, 8-1 comp., with 8-9lbs ran 10.60s in the 129 range at Englishtown...in an all steel 3,500# 70' Dart....street driven daily.
This was with a 6-71 and 2 750 Holleys, so not exactly an apples to apples....but 371hp at 8lbs seems mighty low.

Your not really running a mech fuel pump with that blower... thats probably why its low on power... hell guys running them on N/A engines have issues with enough flow

The mill and trans look good! That should be fun on the street! I still think you should ditch the mechanical fuel pump and go with an electric pump, tho.

Beautiful engine I have a DLI kit on a 440 and its a torq. beast. Makes 3 or 6lbs boost depending on pulleys. Current cam is a Comp Hyd. 231/237@.050 .525/110cl. Tried the Summit 6401 224/234@.050 114cl. I want try it again. And MP .509/114cl cam. With the comp cam it ran a traction limited 11.35@120mph. @ 4,800 rpm. 3.33 rear gears. They use ALOT of fuel, double 3/8ths lines 2 pumps. But I found that it still was lean,12.8 AFR.Eventually figured out it was the metering blocks. Drilled the main wells to .177 and AFR went from 12.3 to 10.4 with the SAME jets. So really nice set-up you are building,,nice work

Cruising RPM at 70 mph will be around 2100-2200 (3.91 rear gear with 0.64 OD 5th gear). Also rev limiter will be set for 5000 or 5500 just for added protection, though I don't have any reason to be running that high. Not looking to go drag racing, just spirited jaunts around town.
In regards to mechanical fuel pump, I was advised by the engine builder that it would be sufficient for what I want to do. I was going to put a fuel injection setup on top, but after all the headaches I had getting the engine to this point, I didn't want the added trouble (or expense) of modifying fuel tank for electric pump and then having to deal with even more wiring under the hood.

73bluebird, nice build. Engine looks excellent! How is this engine running for you? Do you have any videos? Nice work. I finally have my little B&M supercharger on my 408. It’s going in my ‘74 W200, unfortunately with a slow shifting NP435.
