I know it's a common practice to use a blower hub vice a damper when using a roots blower. Is it appropriate to use one with a centrifical supercharger as well?? It would save some money on a new damper.

I would say you could use a hub if$$ is holding you back and get the damper when you have the $$ and I feel the damper is better in the long run.

At one time the steel hub was the only option, not so today. I would use a blower specific balancer to help the crankshaft live if I was building another crank driven blower motor EDIT. Mkae sure you have the crank cut for two keys, same thing on the balancers or hubs

Spun the 1st hub,2nd welded itself to the nose of a Bryant billet crank.
After that, went with a damper and shortened the blower snout about an inch to minimize the amount of spacer needed for pulley alignment.

Neither of those issues was the fault of the hub itself. When you ran the hubs, did you have one or two keyways? You should have two, to prevent spinning. That goes for dampers, too.
