Here is a pic of my alterktion. It is going in a 70 GTX with a 5.7 and the 8 3/4 rear with a 4 link. I'll have coil overs and discs on all 4 corners!

2nd view....the steel bar is just a support so the assembly will lay flat on the cart for now.

Nice! You're gonna have a hard time driving a "stocker" after a few weeks with that setup. The springs are cheap if you want to play with rates, like $40 each at Summit last time I bought some for QA1 coilovers.

Give us a report on installing and adjusting the 4 link OK? I've been thinking about one for a while...

Also, what about a sway bar mounting and exhaust pipe routing in the rear?

Here you go Lefty, follow this link to 11 pages of photos of this build. You can see how the 4 link went in as well as everything else it took to do this.

That is my whole goal, to have the awesomeness of the beauty of the 70 GTX with the conveniences of modern technology.

I have a 69 Dart (Joe knows of this car) with a complete Hotchkis system on it and holy cow! That car drives like a go cart. A little stiff but much better than any original suspension ever thought of being.
My hope is the alterktion and 4 link will give me any handling I want with a bit more comfortable ride. I'm not going to be autocrossing the thing but I do engage in a bit of "spirited" driving when the opportunity presents itself!

good thing is you will be able to play with spring rates and adjust the shocks to get it to do what you want. and the rack will feel awesome. did you go with the power rack? if so you will love it. just no way stock steering box and associated parts can feel as precise in my opinion.

Darius, thanks for the link - That's some serious Mopar porn you got going on there.

I read your comment about how much the XV front inner fender braces and lower rad support brace added stiffness to the car. Very interesting and proves putting the Mopar on the 4 post shake table was worth the $ they spent. Those two are going on my Coronet. Thanks.

That stuff looks nice. It should blend in with the rest of the underbody paint, huh?

Looking nice there Darius.Hopefully you'll get the car finished soon, know you been working on it a while now and bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel and do some driving with it.

I am really pushing for Spring Fling this year and it looks like that is going to happen. One more week 'til it goes to the paint shop to get squirted. Re-assembly shouldn't take too long since we already had it mostly built so we could run it.
The interior has been at the upholstery shop for quite some time so all they need to do is the carpet, headliner ,and vinyl top after paint.

Spring fling? Thats 8-9 months. The pyramids were built in less time.
