To those who can make it, the wknd of Sat-Sun Sept 14-15, 2013, there will be a Midwest Council of Sports Car Clubs (MCSCC) race wknd Sept 14-15 in beautiful S.W. Michigan "Gingerman Racweay". Amature road racing at its best!

www.mcscc.org

www.gingermanraceway.com

On Saturday, I will be the "Pace Car" with my T/A for competition wheel-to-wheel road races (about 6-8 30-minute races).

On Sunday will be the club's 4th season event of competition hi-speed Autocross on the road course. I intend to compete that day... good social fun as well! Car classifications can be found under the MCSCC web site. Sunday will include, for each entrant, two 10-15 minute morning practice sessions, then competition timed runs begin late morning into the afternoon; awards given out ~4pm. Cost for the Sunday hi-speed competition event is ~$140... details to follow soon with the flyer, etc.

Pre-registration for the hi-speed autocross competition (Sunday) is encouraged but not required; just show up by about 8am or sooner for registration and your car's safety-tech inspection. Come for the FUN and don't be concerned about the "competition" as many of the entries are into it for the season "points" championship contention (at this time, I am not one of those -- maybe next year).

I'll be camping at the track Friday evening thru Sunday's departure. RVs and tents are welcome at the track site; hotels are ~10 minutes west of the track in South Haven, Mich, along with plenty of restaraunts, etc.

On Friday, Sept 13, there is an "open track day" hosted by the race track... cost/details are unknown to me at this time. I probably will not be participating in that Friday's event.

So.. I welcome any Mopar road course "handling" enthusiasts to come out for the wknd, camp at the site if you'd like (arrive Saturday for overnight stay, or else at the South Haven hotels), and have some great race fun experience on SUNDAY.

I hope to see some MOPARS at the track. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

T/Ake care!

I'd like to see that. If I can make the time, I might have to stop out to see some of the action.

This is more my style of autox. We used to run a higher speed event at an airport when I was in college...much more fun than the low speed stuff (which I also enjoyed), IMO.

Hi Dave! Thanks for the interest... I truly want to try to get more of us Mopar Handlers out for some gatherings... at race tracks and ON the race tracks for some behind the wheel action. The higher speed autocross events are defintiely more fun -- especially those on a road course (then you can avg your speeds around 70mph or higher, pending the track site). Plus, since the cars are "competing" in a "solo" fashion (one-car at a time... spaced apart on the track by about 30-40 seconds), its generally safe ... no worry about banging fenders, etc.

I look forward to meeting you!

Also, for anyone attending, if you're only coming to watch, there is probably a small fee to enter into the race track (maybe ~$10?). Overall, its a very nice facility. This particular wknd event is just one of about 6 that the MCSCC hosts each season for W2W and hi-speed autocross championship series (Wis, IL, IN, Mich).

Hi Jerry! If you come to either the SAT W2W race day, or else the SUN hi-speed autox, I assure you that you'll have a good day.

I look forward to meeting you.

Dangit! Has to Sept 15th. You wouldn't want me around anyway since I don't have my P/T Mopar built so I'd have to rock the S197 Mustang...

I may be able to make this - returning from work in Italy.

My Fury would be in parking lot duty. Not quite sure how the old c barge will survive that.

Just to get out onto the track and run the laps will give all of you the desire to run some more... and enjoy your cars to extended capabilities... IF you're interested in the classes, most of us will fit into the B/Prepared or B/Modified class/category... the club is easy about the classes... only the "serious" entrants are judged more to the limit of the club rules.

The picture of the red Duster... he will most likely attend.. he lives in Michigan... he will run Saturday in the Vintage class.

If any of you will be entering the Sunday hi-speed autocross, you'll need a helmet (SA 2005 or M2005, or 2010... free loaners may or may not be available, no guarantee, but we could work something out), as well as to wear long pants -- shorts are not allowed. Also, your shoes have to be enclosed -- open toes sandals are not allowed. This is just "safety" regulations. I'd be willing to offer suggestions to you for the day (tire pressures, course driving, etc). We can use some extra cars for the Sunday hi-speed autocross... it'll be a blast and great FUN day for us! Just try to show up by or preferably before 8AM to register and tech your car, as well as to attend the mandatory driver's meeting (~8:15AM Sunday). If you run your car, I'll do my best to get pictures of you on the track for you..... MORE MOPARS... MORE MOPARS.... MORE MOPARS!!!

PS: I can't help you with the long pants or shoes.

Hey IndyDave -- You're an experienced and vetaran autocrosser.. so, if you can just come on out with your Mustang.. and take it easy on those of us who aren't so experienced... you'd probably win your class or place high in the results. come up Saturday for the evening into sunday... if you can... my tent is huge, so I've got extra room.

I can't. We're having a solo / car show at Indianapolis Speedrome the same day and I really need to be there as I've been the one pushing for it. Otherwise I'd be all over this....

You can find the entry form to the wknd event here... or go to myautoevents.com and look at Sept 15 Gingerman Raceway..
the flyer is available at that website (its a multi-page flyer divided by the W2W event and the AutoX event). Helmets MUST be 2005 or newer as per safety rules (insurance mandates the 2005 rule).

AutoX: MCSCC members $130, non-members $160. $20 additional late fee if not pre-registered by Sept 10, 2013. Mandatory driver's mtg 8am - 8:15 am...

I hope to see some of you, and best yet, if some of you actually enter the event and compete... let's have some FUN!

Just so you know, you can pre-register via MyAutoEvents.com, or fax the form... but paymet isn't due until you show up at the event (without any late-fee penalty). The club registration team simply needs to get an idea how many entrants will attend.... that's common for all of their events. Payment is cash or check (sorry, no credit cards). So, if there's a possibility that you'd enter the competition event (Sunday Autocross), just pre-register by/before Sept 10th so you'd save the $20 late fee. If you're unceratin of car classification, that can be determined during your tech inspection. Also, even if there's rain, the event still proceeds.

Anyone planning to go, just to watch or particpate, can take a track run on U-Tube inside a 2011 Z06 Vette.. watch the tach/rpm, MPH, track locations on graph... see their website at the bottom of the front page.... make it a full-page and turn up the volume! The Vette driver really puts the hammer down!
