It will help it but that concrete isnt as strong as iron.. are you trying to strengthen the cyl walls or the bottom end... the bottom end is pretty decent on the small block

Get a measurement to how high you want to fill it from the deck... put your freeze plugs in and use the Moroso block filler... its creamier and flows better... tap the block with a dead blow hammer to get it all spread out and in the small areas... then bolt the head on and torque it(have the mains on and torqued before you start)

I would suggest blasting it or something inside to get out as much rust as possible so the fill will stick better. Then have it line honed and bored afterward.

I just filled my 360 block this past winter. Machining had already been done, and I used a product called Embecco 885 recommended by many as better than hard block and the moroso. Poured one side, bolted on a head and old gasket, torqued it down, as well as all the main caps...Couple days later poured the other side and did the same thing. No problems so far with it, and it turned out nice. Also, to clean the inside of the block real good in the water jackets, use some muriatic acid. It needs to be clean in there for the filler to stick, and this stuff will eat ALL the crap away. I would even use it on a block that isn't getting filled just to get the water jackets clean. Just make sure you do it somewhere with good ventilation and don't let it sit too long, then have a hose on hand to rinse it all out real good. You'll be amazed at what comes outta there. Good luck!

Hate to tell you.. it doesnt stick to the iron..but if it has minimal shrinkage then at least its close to the cyl walls... I had one block a few year back that was ground on at the bottom for rod clearance and the guy got carried away and there was a small leak at the bottom... I figured if I filled it with a short fill it would take care of it.. it still leaked so I ended up putting stopleak in it and it stopped it
