I'm installing a right angle oil filter adapter onto my small block. It's going into my 67 Barracuda. The engine is out of the car currently and I wanted to install the filter adapter before putting it into the car.
Couple questions:
My gasket kit came with three gaskets, but the original only had two gaskets. (big one against the block and small one under the bolt head) Where is the thick cork gasket supposed to go?

Second question: I'm not sure what angle the adapter needs to be at. Would it be best to leave it loose and then adjust it to fit once installed in the car? Is there room to get to it?

Third question: Is there any RTV required, or should it all work fine without?

Last question: What should I torque the bolt to?

Thanks!

Thick cork gasket inside on the bolt. Install the 90 deg adapter after the eng is in & rotate it so the filter angle is the best fit. Gasket cement SPARINGLY is fine (I would not use RTV). I like permatex MA99 (might be 99MA) "high tack" the red spray in a can. Goes on light/even & is extremely tacky & seals ver well. 50 lbs. Clean the block circular recess GOOD with a small metal bristle brush

Last question: What should I torque the bolt to? Tight to where it don't leak, that's how I did mine.
Thanks!

I had to grind a bit of material off the body of the adapter so my socket would fit squarely over the large bolt when tightening it.

Also, make sure the adapter fits nicely into the recess in the block. Mine had to be deburred up a bit to fit right.
