So it came out of a 91 W350 that sat for a long time in norcal, but only had a little over 100k on it. It was a fleet maintained truck (PG&E) that was parked for engine issues. Other than a serious cleanup to get the grime off, servicing the brakes, and changing the fluids, is there any specific maintenance I should do before I swap it out to replace the drum brake D44HD axle in my 73W200? Do the selectable hubs need any servicing?

Also, I got the entire power brake booster/master cylidner setup. it appears to be a bolt in, but should I expect any issues with it working with my stock full float D60 rear with factory drums?

Thanks!
-Jon

Depends. Was it still hooked up in the truck? If it was just laying out Id opt for new calipers and maybe swap the upper kingpin bushings and clean and paint. Maybe repack the bearings? Is it a 60 or 61? Are they the same gear ratio?
Your rear 60 is the same as the 91s. You might want the proportioning valve since its going from 4wheel drum to disc front drum rear

Its a 60 not a 61 and has a 4.10 gear to match my rear! The axle was still on the truck and hooked up when I got it and appears to have a thick set of pads and no lip you can feel on the rotor. The rotors on the thing are amazingly thick. Thanks for the tip on the prop valve, I forgot about that. I'll see if I can still go back and grab it.

I'm glad you got what you needed. It just makes us rust belt folks jealous. Another fine truck parted out in stead of being repaired.
I so need a good rustfree long bed. Wonder what shipping from Cali. would be.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

This one had a service body on it. It was being parted out as the back fees with the DMV from unpaid registration were greater than the value of the truck. The guy does still have the cab and front sheetmetal which is completely rust free and the chassis without a spec of rust if anyone local is interested I can put you in touch with him.

Repack the wheel bearings. Check the kingpins. Kits to do the kingpins are not to bad moneywise. Death wobble is common with worn kingpins.

The booster will probably be slightly different where it hooks to the brake pedal...a small spacer will probably do the trick. The booster pushrod is fatter on the older truck.

Since your tuck is a divorced setup can you let me know the length of the driveshaft for the front ends up being and possible the get them on the rear? I have a 74 Halfton and will be swapping to D60s soon. It would be GREATLY appreciated. I've asked on the full time setups before on here and Nobody stepped up with measurements
