The antifreeze you have now in that Saturn is probably GM 'Dexcool' which is the orange kind (looks red if dirty). This antifreeze has well known issues with congealing and gumming up cooling systems....especially since it is supposedly '5 year' antifreeze.

For the short term, I would say its ok to mix the orange and universal (yellow) types but I don't know if I would want to run it that way for the long term. I have heard people say never to mix anything with Dexcool and some that say it's fine to use the yellow kind...I am guessing it's somewhere in between.

If it were my car, I'd confirm it uses Dexcool (store should be able to look it up or may be marked under the hood) and stick with that. oh yeah, and don't try to make it last 5 years in between flushes!

Use the type recommended by the car manufacturer for the car's year. Going by color won't always work, and the "works with any kind" - doesn't. It's all about chemistry and metalurgy.

If you have a custom/hot rod with parts from different sources, focus on the engine. When things go bad because of the wrong coolant, the engine is the hardest one to thoroughly clean out.
