Could you tell me what color primer was originally used for GA4 Light Gunmetal metallic? I want to return my '71 Charger SE which is currently green, back to it's original color of A4 Gray. I figured gray primer for light colored cars, but just want to make sure as I want the paint to match the factory color as much as possible. Thanks, Arch

Im sure it dependent on which plant the car was assembled in.

My best guess would be red oxide.....

My A5 car had red oxide primer under the gray paint.

Red Oxide primer would be correct if you were restoring the car the "original" way it was finished, in Single Stage Enamel....however if your going with a BC/CC finish your best following the manufacturers recommendation for the intended Shade Value, as color/shade are greatly influenced by the base shade value, and a shade value has been chosen by the paint mfg's to best reflect the intended color finish
