What spark plugs should I put in my 440 street car? It's 9.5 to 1, .040 over, Comp Cams XE274 cam, cast pistons, LY rods, RPM intake, Holley 750 vacuum secondaries, TTI 1/78 headers, 2.5" exhaust, H pipe, turbo mufflers to the rear bumper, 3.91 gears.

I know these are pretty basic questions. I haven't run a performance V8 in decades...

Factory Iron with a pretty aggressive port and polish.

Looks like a good choise on the cam shaft ! I would start on a plug whit heat range 6 (NGK) or 12 (Champion) and see what the plugs look like after some driving if whe are talking about a car for the street but if you are gona run it on a track maybee a bit colder plugs.

RJ12YC's should work great on that always did for me on iron heads.

Accel 137 and Autolite 75 worked well for me w/ similar compression and iron heads.

Higher compression (or poor quality pump fuel) could require going a bit colder, which would be Accel 134 and Autolite 73.

I did NOT have good results w/ the latest Champion equivalents and suggest you pass on those particular plugs.

In my mild iron headded 440 I ran Autolite 73's and 74's. Both worked good and never fouled even with all my street driving. Ron

NGK #6 or 7............I wouldn`t put a Champion in a lawnmower and Autolites didn`t live for me personally.

72 Dart 470 n/a BB stroker street car `THUMPER`...Check me out on FB Dominic Thumper for videos and lots of carb pics......760-900-3895.....
