Hey guys, I need some help and maybe even a few pictures.
Im having a 518 installed in my 93 Canyon Sport with a 440 conversion.
When the original 440/727 swap was made the tranfer case/transmission crossmember was installed directly to the frame. IIRC all the RC's had a 3/4" or so spacer on this crossmember to drop it down a tad.
Does anyone have any pictures they could post, and maybe a measurement on the spacers used?
One issue I have had is that the PCV valve on the drivers side valve cover has no clearance with the correct small diameter brake booster. I have had several 440 powered trucks, and this has never been an issue before.
My thinking is that those spacers will tilt the engine down just enough to gain the needed space for the PCV valve to fit. As is I would have to pull the booster to change valve cover gaskets, and I know that this can normally be done without having to do that. Ive done it many times.
I am using stock valve covers, fit fine in the previous truck. Also I wonder if the spacers were to help with driveshaft angle since its so short.
I want to make sure this is buttoned up correctly and hopefully for the last time.

Are you guys useing the 4x4 engine brackets or the 2x4 version??
It has the correct 4wd engine brackets.
Scratch none of the ones I've seen had a skid plate. I can't recall if the 2wd ones I've had or worked on had them bit the 4wds did

Cutting my own may be possible. But ideally I would like to know the correct length.
I was hoping someone with a ramcharger might be able to take a look under theirs.

I would tend to believe the 4X RCs amd W series trucks would have the same mounting system..
I am truckless..

I used them on my 446/2 wire 518 2wd 86 RC. They were the original ones it had and I went ahead and reused them for the conversion.
