seeing as there appears to be interest in mild-mannered stroker combos, i thought i'd give some numbers on an easy and relatively affordable 511 i put together. Nuts and bolts are as follows: RB, 4.375 x 4.25 (440 source rotating assy). 17 cc dish, 0.015 in the hole with 0.027 cometic gasket (10.3:1). E-brock heads port-matched (by me) to holley SD and hand-lapped. hughes flat solid (older grind from my stash): 256/263 with 108 lsa, dove 1.6:1 rockers (lift = ca. 0.64") holley 850 w/choke tower removed and home ported and 1" open spacer. mp distributor and orange box. hooker super comp 2" to 3.5" with 3" TTI exhaust with dynomax super turbo. ran it with an HV oil pump and 20/50 racing oil. gave 477 rwhp at 5600 rpm and 480 rwt at 4500 rpm. idles at 800 rpm and drives like a teddy bear. i suspect the carb is too small for this combo as i had it jetted at 84/92 with front power valve with A/F = 13.2, which seems like pretty big jets for a 850.

(for comparison, old 446 with the same heads, rockers, and exhaust, 10:1 TRW/LY set up, E-brock RPM, holley 830, comp hydraulic (231/237) made 387 rwhp also at 5600)

seems like the heads need some work , that should make more power to me , but it's not bad

Nice. Depending on the weight and what you have for suspension, should go very low 11s at 120+. Get some track numbers and let us know.

Thst's very impressive, very similar to my old 508 RB combo! Nice!!

I think you're right about the carb, she'll definately like a 950HP or 1000hp up top with no downside on the bottom.

Great job!!

Nice job! Your build is very similar to mine, only my cam is a touch smaller and I'm using a inline dual quad intake (and small shorty headers). Ok, maybe its not that similar. Either way, sounds like you built an extremely fun street car to me

i agree about the heads - who knows what they actually flow? and also that the engine power good but not exceptional nevertheless, i was pleased with the engine output given the lackluster performance of the same heads on the 446. i think with a professional porting job on the heads and a hp 950 carb, this thing would put up some nice numbers.
