Had some electrical problems with my Duster, also had to replace a damaged cluster bezel. Got everything sorted put the dash back together and bolted the steering back up. Next day checked it and nothing was working, pulled the dash out again, then everything worked again, a few minutes later, nothing. I am thinking the problem lies between the fusible link and the ammeter, will check for continuity tomorrow.
Fuses are all good under the dash.
Any ideas ?
cheers Mick

Start with the Fusible link. They will not look burnt if they are so pull it and wiggle it. Check for Voltage on both sides of the bulkhead and be sure the Ammeter wires are tight and voltage on both sides.

Do you get nothing at all or do the lights work but not anything powered by the ignition switch? If so check the switch connectors especially the Red wire. I usually just solder it instead of passing current through the connector.

Rig up a wire with a 10 amp fuse inline and hook one end to the batt terminal on the starter relay. Then use the probe on the back of the ammeter, bulkhead, etc.

When it goes, nothing works, lights, motor, turn signal, wipers etc. That's what made me think, something between link and ammeter.
I bypassed it all on my Dart but would just like to fix the Duster, rather than altering it all.

I think i've found the problem, when i fitted the dash cluster, i didn't tighten the ammeter cables tight enough and they were twisting, causing it to lose power.
Thanks for your replies
Mick
