the butterfly ones?..they all seem to leak sooner all later...the best ones seem to be the ones that have a sliding door to completely cut the exhaust closed..just too much money for me..I went old school....uncork and go..

I got mine from Dougs, not cheap but they don't leak and they have held up well. You can see/hear them in the video

I've had 2 sets of the butterfly type cut-outs, (neither of them were Jeg's) and they both leaked.

I put on a set of Doug's a few years ago and had no leaks at all. The Doug's only have 2 problems; they are big and they are expensive.

YES! They are so much fun that I will never own another muscle car without them. I first bought a set searching for more ET when I was running a KOS class. But soon realized that the fun factor was off the charts.

I have dougs also. I had them on for about a week and one of the motors stopped closing. They send out a new one from california-7 day wait. Put the new one on and it worked for 2-3 weeks and then the same thing. Send a new one- another 7 day wait. Put new one on as I was going to go racing that night, broke instantly. Then I sent in the entire assembly (7days there and 7 days back)bc they said it was probably out of spec. Comes back and works fine until 2 weekends ago, it only opens 1/4 of the way and then finally stops working at all. Email them July 9th (at 5 am my time) through their website which states a 48 hour window to reply to you. I got that reply on July 15th at 5:20 pm. He says to call in and I do and they want a copy of my receipt. I send it instantly and then hear nothing, sent another email and still nothing. Call up and the person says I saw the second email but not one with a receipt attached. I send it again and they say ok, send it back( july 19th at 530). So I go to drop it off at UPS (like the first time i sent in the whole assembly) except I get to pay the 15 bucks in shipping that will take 6-7 days to get to them. Then hopefully they just give me a new one this time bc my one year warranty will run out in august. Basically I've had them for almost a year and they will be inoperable for over 2 months of that... on a car that I don't even drive that much either. frustrating week for me with cars (see my 4 speed thread).

I will say that the driver side has worked flawlessly, but the passenger side one sucked. Luck of the draw I guess.

That is bizarre, I would be pissed for sure. I know the timeframe sucks but at least they are standing behind their product. Knock on wood, mine have been fine since day one. I will say this, when they work they are fun. Most of my driving is done with the cutouts wide open. I close them when I feel I have to or when I'm afraid I'll be waking the neighbors.

Just my $0.02..

Hard to tell with all the "wind" noise from the exhaust. What are the specs of your exhaust?

Same for me, later at night or through a neighborhood I shut them. That and when I see a cop flying up behind me.
Hope they just send a new one, especially hearing nobody else is having problems. Especially after 6-7 yrs of owning them. When they work, it's awesome!

An actually video camera instead of my phone would be an improvement. I have 1.75 headman elite headers that were coated with a thermal barrier in and out by Loko, the dumps are 3" right after the collector. The rest of the exhaust is 2 1/2 so it gets pretty quiet when you close the dumps. I think the mufflers are dynomax super turbos
