Im ready to purchase headers for my 68 B body 75% street 25% drag machine, its a 505 in with stealth heads. Im thinking 2" primaries. Is there a best fit best peformance header you guys use. Im going to use 3" pipe to the back bumper.

TTi is the best place to start then work your way down the list from there. Doug's is also pretty good.

I can say for fact that there isnt a perfect shelf
header for your engine but if you buy a shelf header
you should add collector extensions so you end up
with about 16" from the end of the primaries... 2"
is pretty close... but a 1 7/8 will give you a better
low end torque but you will loose some upper power

I am running TTI chassis headers and their full lenth 3" system with an X-pipe and Ultra-Flow mufflers. I am happy with it as my 63 is a good 90% or more street car and when I race its thru the full exh. Ron

Mine were coated when I bought them and it still looks good 3 years later.I know you can buy them bare so you can get them coated yourself.

I would advise that you still put collector extensions
on them to get about 16" total... that will give you
more torque.. the stock collector is way to short on
any shelf header(its a cost thing)... also what diameter
is the collector... you should have 4" minimum

The D452's are coated. If you paid close to $700 then they should be the coated ones.
