Well I may be going thru with my plan of using my 7.50 certified Daytona chassis and going from a 96 inch wheelbase to a 108 inch Duster wheelbase. Also may end up 4-6 inches wider. My old 1972 340 duster was made available to me at a pretty fair price so I may be using that body on this project. The guy that upgraded my chassis from 8.50-7.50 recently retired and wants some side work. He is going to try to give me an estimate on Monday and hopefully I can sell off some parts to help fund the project. My 572 will be used but with B1 heads instead of the 440-1's. Hoping for some 8.0's-8.40's
Here's my Duster many, many years ago.

Come on now Tony that was my Grungy look. We were Grungy Racing before it was the in thing to do. I still have all that hair but it moved to my ears, butt, chest, and back.

Matt and I checked it out last year and its still pretty solid. Still has the grill, 6 pac fiberglass hood, 8 3/4 will 35 spline axles and spool. I have a super clean 72 340 4 speed Duster that needs finished in the house garage that is to nice to use on this project. It my be up for sale soon as a needs finished roller.

I think your making a BIG mistake trying to fit a
G-body chassis to a A-body.. I think you would be
better off selling the Daytona to pay for a new chassis

Hey John, did you see this chassis on RJ? I think that add is from Bondo Bob. Looks like a nice Car and would not take much to finish.

That is nice Randy but its marked sold. I'll bet that didn't last long. I didn't forget about your cam offer Randy but i probably lost out on that one. Doctors been having a field day on my body trying to figure out what the heck hit me. More blood work on Wednesday follow-up on the 23rd of july but I am on the mend.

After spending about an 1 1/2 hours taking measurements and seeing how close the height and width are between my Duster and Daytona are I really feel at ease going this route. He has built many local top sportsmen cars in the area including 3 for his wife. He had one question that he needed to address with our local NHRA chassis certifier. The cage itself is off less than 1 inch in height and width and 12 inches in wheelbase. He's working on it for a 20 dollar an hour rate which I think is more than fair. Body mounting is a non-issue according to him. I will know more early next week when he gives me an estimate.

Sorry, I did not check the add today, I saw it a couple of days ago before it said sold and pasted it. The offer on the cam still stands. Just call or PM me if you still want it. I understand about the health stuff and hope you are feeling better soon. I am going under the knife again July 18. My new Doc thinks he can help get me back to doing some normal things,(Like getting back in my Racecar)lol.

I just finished up a moly chassis for a A body a
few months ago... and I have a G-body here that I was
going to do a chassis for so I do know the differences..
but thats just me... anyone want to buy a G-body
(92 Daytona body)... its mostly gutted now.. has the
ground effects also.. still on 4 wheels

I hear what you are saying Mike but remember this was not a Daytona made into a race car. it was a tube chassis with a modified mostly fiberglass body set on it. Not one thing is stock from the front to the rear. Never had floorboard, firewall, doors, front end, that the cage had to be measured or conformed to.

The chassis still had to fit the contours of the
body... whether it had a floor or fire wall... but
you do what you feel is the right thing for you
