Got a friend that's going to put a new Six Pak set up on his 1970 440 "Runner.
He has a 3 speed wiper motor.
Something tells me that (IIRC) that the air cleaner base will NOT work with a 3 speed wiper motor.
Anyone remember?

It won't work with a 2 speed motor.
The 3 speed was a manditory option on Hemi and Six Pack '66-'70 B bodies.

Exactly as I thought...thanks V Code.
As a matter of fact, I slipped up to my friend's place after work, and he does have the 2 speed motor....sticking right out where it's in the way!
My Challenger has the 2 speed motor, but there's at least an 1 1/2" more room at the rear of the engine at the firewall than the B Body has.
There-in lies the difference. My cleaner base has a good 3/4" of clearance.
SO...what's in the cards here? ....Get a 3 speed motor, linkage, switch and wiring and adapt?

he's looking for motor #2983116 from a 70 B body. 68-70 will interchange, but you may want date coded.

If you are doing a conversion on a 1970-1971 E-Body or a 1971 B-Body from a 2-spd. to a 3 or variable spd. motor, you will have to replace the wiper motor crank with part #2822289, also the link from the motor to the drivers side pivot with part #2822293 (1970) or 3431102 (1971). Note the part #’s are stamped in these parts. The 1970 link will work on the 1971 and vice versa. These parts can be found on the cars listed above.
