the number stamped on the arm of advance units. is that number the advance degrees? the one I pulled apart has a 15 on it.

yes , that is the number of advance degrees , someone said it was 15 actual, but I can't see that ..

It's the # of dist degrees & you double that # to get the # of crank degrees cuz the crank turns twice as fast as the cam/dist does & crank degrees is what you'll see with the timing light. Never seen one with that high of a # on it. could you post a pic?
