The cable housing is full of fluid up to the fluid level in the trans; there is a rubber sheath around the lower part of the cable housing to prevent fluid leaks, if that sheath is damaged it will leak fluid.
Heat shrink tubing can be used to repair a damaged sheath; some heat shrink contains a glue, it works best. Be sure the heat shrink extends up onto the metal end of the cable housing.
Also, be sure the leak isn't coming from above the cable at the TP lever shaft.
