Here is a pic of the 75 cc chamber e heads that I just purchased.
What model of head is that (E-Street or Performer RPM) and is that CNC chamber work the way it comes OOB from Edelbrock?

Wow it looks like a decent turbo chamber but still looks sorely lacking for an NA engine-in the pressure recovery department. I could be wrong though as I am judging from a picture. I hope mine are more promising when I get them. J.Rob
What's pressure recovery, and what does the chamber have to do with it? And btw it looks like the RPM's are NHRA legal for stock/super stock (I think that's what BradH was referring to)

I'm interested in this, too. I know what pressure recovery is, but am not clear on how the chamber design impacts this.

Actually, no. I think the NHRA-legal castings have been out for a while now, but since I don't follow the Stock / Super Stock stuff very closely, don't know anything about them.
I was referring to other things, such as the new 75 cc Performer RPM option and the spec on the revised Victor chamber being 72 cc, instead of the original 75 cc.

I like the 75 number but ....only to 5500 rpms .....
Well, with stock port volume, 5500 is quite realistic. You want to start winding it out, get some porting or go to Victors, Indy or B-1s S/F.....Ken M

I have never actually run a set of Eddy heads ...or even 440S pieces ... so OOTB they all have a TOP flow rate of 5500 rpm?

Limited by valve train components (i.e., soft springs for mild hydraulic cams), not by port volume or flow.

Did Edelbrock change the casting? In some other older posts people said that the chamber was identical to the RPM. Well, the whole head was said to be identical except the chamber size of 75cc.

looks like some pics have already made their way onto the thread.
here's a couple more:
chamber, no valves. in these pics i have already re-cut the valve seats, so you are not looking at the as-supplied Edelbrock valve job.

you can see by this pic the valve seats are noticably recessed into the chamber roof. you can also see they have lowered the roof some between the valves. this is evident because they needed to put a little trough coming off the spark plug hole. on the 84cc head, the plug hole is clear of the roof.
also, as for these heads being "milled" to get the 75cc's.....while they didnt just mill an 84cc head down to remove 9cc's, they have done some machining of the casting in a way to help make the chambers smaller.
there is a "D" shaped pad on the deck of an 84cc head, along the intake side of the head, mid-way from front to back. this pad is about .030 deep on the 84cc head. on the 75cc E street head, its basically gone. however....the head bolt boss thickness is the same as an 84cc head.....not .030 thinner. also, you dont lose .030 of valve drop....its more like .015.

84cc RPM head with a Fel-Pro 1009 gasket. notice how the chamber really follows the contours of the gasket adjacent to the intake valve.
