I DA HOE
I wanted to do something different to my AAR, as far as tire wheel combo. I have some painted to match (purple) steel 15X7 with caps.
What tire size, brand do you recommend?
I am sure a lot of people will recommend going back to original but the E & G combo is expensive and that s what everyone else has.
Thanks

The AAR was STANDARD with the 15x7.0" "Rallye wheels" & there was no OPTIONAL wheel tire combo from the factory.

That being said, the current tire size for the factory staggered look would be 225/60/15 (E60-15) front & 245/60/15 (G60-15) rear.
These end up "looking short" by modern standards, so 1 size up would be 235/60/15 (F60-15) front & 255/60/15 (H60-15) rear.

My preference would be 1 more size up the ladder - 245/60/15 (G60-15) front & 275/60/15 (L60-15) rear. These are big for the front, you may have clearance issues & some consider 275/60/15 too large for a 15x7.0 wheel - but they work for me.

I'd go with 245-60-15 front and 275-60-15 rear.. even on the 15x7 rims they fit and work a-ok (ran them on my T/A for many years). Actually, I'm going to buy new 255-60-15 T/As for the front to replace the worn out 245-60-15 T/As.. will give a slight bit more ground clearnace (car is lowered) and a bit more "cushion" via slightly taller side-wall considering my suspension is very stiff.. setup for serious autocrossing and road course events.. have 1.24 torsion bars. Car drives great locally around town and on the highway! (have another set of race rims/tires for competition events.. 16x10 rims, 275-45-16 Hoosiers f/r)
