A little back ground first. This engine is my Super Bee I owned in high school that i got back 3 years ago. 383 12.5:1 TRW's,.509 MP cam, Rhodes lifters, built in 1989 with less than 7k on it. I installed the heads over the weekend and there are rocker spacer shims that look like washers that the instructions say to use to get adequate clearance between the push rods and intake port walls. I am guessing that they would go on the shaft to move the rockers over for clearance, I have 5/16 push rods and everything looks to clear fine so I do not need these correct? Next is the instructions say you must use adjustable rockers. I had been using the stock non adjustable on my old milled 516 heads. I got it together and it is running but there seems to be a little more valvetrain noise, do i need to replace the Rhodes lifters as they were used with the milled 516's and they are not pumping up enough now or do I need to get adjustable rockers ? If I need new rockers should I replace the lifters also as I am not sure you can adjust with the Rhodes ? Thanks for the help.

You domn't need adjustable rockers if your pushrods are the right length. Many here have had success with all stock parts.
Follow the directions on your Rhoads lifters, they probably gave you a preload spec. They are just an extra-fast leakdown lifter.

I replaced my milled (75cc) 906 heads with the MP452's. I did use Harland Sharp rockers with both sets of heads. In my case, the pushrods used with the 906's were a bit short for my liking after the 452's were installed. If your iron heads were cut as much as mine, you may experience the same problem. Now my HS rockers installed with the same spacer setup on bot the iron and aluminum heads, so I assume that the stamped steel rockers will also. BTW, my compression ratio is now low enough to run pump gas and I have dialed in more timing. It actually runs much stronger (seat of the pants)with the 452's on the street.

That was what I was hoping to do. Sounds like some new push rods are in order. Thanks for the input. I will let you know what I find and how it turns out.

I believe the only thing in the swap that could be affecting the noise from the lfiters would be the current preload distance. measure what you have & post it
