So, when I wrecked my 50 Dodge 4x4 (on an 80 W100 frame) the transfercase got broke. Along the way I collected another transfercase with a 727 attached. The guy said he thought the case was from a 78, and the trans was suppose to be good. It has a 4wd lock & 4wd shifter. Over the weekend my 50 went to be with someone that will use it for parts, but he didn't want this transfercase. I see no future use for this transfercase around here, so it needs to go away. I really have no knowledge of this thing or its history. Is there a need for something like this, or should I just scrap it? Gene

Worth more than scrap. Trans is worth $75-100 since its 4wd specific t-case is worth $50-100 bit that's just my opinion.

First find out what transfer case it is.. 203 big cast iron case, 205 gear dive cast iron case.. both have round tag screwed to the case you will have to removed the grease from.. if I remember right 203 has 2 shift levers 205 only has 1..Alumininmum case 208 has no ribs on top at tunnel 241 has ribs on top at tunnel...

The 203 folks use them for a 203/ 205 doubler in rock some 4x4.. they are $100 give or take.. 205 is $150 $200

208 or 241 chain drive 80's like $50 if the chain is tight..

727... I am going to take it that is it a small block case. $50-100 as a rebuildable core. Big block $200 for core.

Does anyone know if they put the good planetaries and such in those SB 4X4 727's? I agree with Rod Halls estimates on the TCases, that's about what they bring around here too.

Thanks for the info guys.
Looks to be cast iron, I'll look better tomorrow, in the day light. It does have 2 shifter rods. Must be a 203. I figured the trans was a core. I bought it cheap, if there is a need, I will sell it cheap, if it doesn't sell soon, it will be scrap. I don't have the space or desire to keep it. I'm heading for the truck classifieds now.
