yes I have asked this once or twice but what cam would be good for my pretty much stock 74 318 with stock 74 head's, has header's, edelbrock 4bbl intake, I will be running either 321 gears or 354's an I will be running a stock high stall converter with a TF-3 kit, the truck will be pretty much a town cruiser not for towing just want something with some torque.. right now im lookin at the summit 6900 but I read the whiplash ya can use the stock spring's?? I was told the motor I have has a cam not sure what brand but don't want to take a chance on it not being enough lol also not sure if they are stock spring's either. im on a very very small budget but would like to put a cam in if I can..

whiplash flat tappet or whiplash roller cam are way to much for stock springs.

if it has rotoators oon the exhuast springs you deff want to ditch those with any cam.

the summit cam may or may not work with stock springs but I would at least use a comp 901-16 for alittle more than stock cam.

as for a lopo 318 as the 74 is a whiplash will make it a screamer with a lumpy lump lump at idle, great in a stock 318 for a daily driver...but use the hughes springs with it.
