My 1970 6 pack Bee has a SBD of 3/20/70, Motor assy., Feb. 1970 There are two distributors in Galen's book, 2875982 early, and 348349 late, both for 1970 440-6 auto. Which one would be for my car, or either. Also how far out on date code? THANKS

You would most likely have the later. The cut off is approximately January 1, 1970 taken from the 1970 parts manual. 3438349 IBS-4019A

That's what thought, but I think the parts manual calls for the 3438349 IBS-4019A to have the electronic vacuum advance. I have never seen a 70 6Pack with one.

I have a 3438356 IBS-4019AS It has the electronic part on the vacuum advance. I had it for a 70 V code I sold.

The 3438356 is the replacement one, what is the date code? Any one with a 3438359 that has the elec., vacuum on a 70 model 6pack?

Has no one ever seen or restored a late production 70 6pack car with the 3438349 distributor and did it have an elec., vacuum advance?

Any one? With all the 70 6packs restored, there has to be one with this distributor.

I have the earlier distributor which is dated 519. My car's SPD is Feb 10, 1970. I think you would be fine using that one for your car if you could locate one. I would think that the factory would use up the earlier distributors first, before changing to the others. Since the one I have was dated the second last week of 1969, that would indicate to me that if that Jan 1970 date was an absolute cut off date, the earlier Prestolite ones would have ceased production much earlier than the end of 1969. Am I making sense?

Never seen an electronic vacuum on an original 70 440-6 dual point.
