Going to buy a Dana tomorrow. Here are the numbers. He said it is out of a 1967. He said a freind of his checked the numbers? Just want to be sure before I pick it up. I cannot find a chart for 66/67 but there are some references on Google search. They said the 8 is the month the 10 is the day 7 is year and the A1 is the plant and shift. But see nothing on 602828-2 besides others checking on their Dana's with that number.

First line 4 17 7 6
Then 8 10 7A1

Last 602829-2

Measurements check. It has a Pinion Snubber. Looks like it is all stock pictures.
Thanks for any help!

The axle has 2 date codes , one is a 67 and would be in the 67 model year , but the second is too late for a 67 model year but it could be an over the counter replacement axle ?

the lists I find do not have that number , but I found an old thread on moparts showing that number but a -1 . 66-67 Dana is shorter than a 68-70 . I don't think 4.10's were available in production passenger cars till 68 ???

It's my understanding that the top stamped number is the date the housing was assembled, the number below it is the date the complete rear end was assembled. As John said, it appears to be a replacement for a '66-'67 built after the '67 model year was ended.

The date stamped on the ring gear (if original) will tell more.
