I try to torque most things just for piece of mind.

If I recall, my rear shocks were 50 ft/lbs top and bottom. I think it was a 3/4" nut. Not sure about the fronts; it's been a while

Is there a torque setting for the front upper if you don't have the factory mount ? You are tightening against 2 pieces of rubber so it must be a fairly light amount of torque?

Just tight like has been posted. If I'm not mistaken the nuts are lock nuts anyway. Can't "torque" them like you would something like a headbolt.

I bet there is no torque spec in the FSM.

For the front tops, I've always just tightened them until the rubber squishes to the same or close to the same OD as the washer. For some reason 35 ft/lbs stick out for the bottom bolt. FSM probably has a spec.

I stand corrected, I was wrong.

Is there torque specs for the rear? because that's what I thought we were talking about.

When I put Bilsteins on the Torana, they came with torque settings, and for the upper front too (since that had been brought up here about how much crush for the rubber bushings).
Don't remember the numbers they stated, but do remeber it was mentioned at least.

I bet there is no torque spec in the FSM.

By the way, what was the bet for?

Now your pushing your luck... We didn't shake so it don't count!

I'll bet I'll take a good ribbing for it for a while.

Thanks for the help. I was liking for all the bolts as I replaced all 4 shocks. I don't have a FSM. Gotta get one of those.
