Next one at Gateway .How was the turnout and payouts ?
Gateway seems to have a better payout than the others in this series .
I'm not comparing it to MMW because thats a track rental compare to track owners running Mega mopar series .
Will be running at both .

I don't understand the MMW reference? Not much else out there besides MMW,the Mo Power series and the Chrysler Power's one race this year.

Mega Mopar is owned by the same folks that own the rights to Super Chevy and Fast Ford, when those events are at a track, it's the tracks show, they are just renting the naming rights, Monster Mopar on the other hand is a complete package, brings the name and the people to run the event.

Yea, that Josh guy. I have heard of him before when MMW is mentioned. I was at St. Louis last year when MMW had it. It will be interesting as to how it compares this year, please let us know.

The drag racing segment of the event is highlighted by the Nostalgia Super Stocks and Funny Cars as well as sportsman drag racing featuring Sunday eliminations. There are guaranteed purses in Super Pro ($3,000 to win), Pro ($3,000 to win), Street/Sportsman ($1,200 to win), Top Dragster ($3,000 to win), Top Sportsman ($3,000 to win), Hemi ($1,000 to win), True Street ($350), and Trophy. All of the guaranteed purse classes are exclusively for Chrysler bodied and/or powered vehicles.



In addition to all of the guaranteed Chrysler classes, two bonus open competition classes will be contested. Mopars vs. the World (open to any type of race car) is set to pay $3,000 to win based on 64 cars. The Pony Car Challenge (open to 2006 and newer Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers) is set to pay $350 based on 16 cars. These additional classes provide the opportunity for everyone’s racing friends to accompany them to the event. It also gives Mopar racers the opportunity to double-up for additional chances to win in multiple classes.

Lost one of the cars that was going to make passes this weekend last night at Gateway, parachute didn't blossom, and car went through both catch fences. Driver OK, car not so much, everything in front of the motorplate is gone, one front wheel has a crack in it, wheelie bars are pretzeled. Car was front halved 2 years ago, don't know what's going to happen now.

Did not make it over last nite sorry for the lost what car was this?

We are planning on going to the Indy event in June.I haven't been to Indy in a while. Where is a good place to stay close to the track? I won't be racing, just bringing my old 57 pro-street truck for some fun.

Somebody is having an event the first weekend in July at Memphis that me and several buddies are going to.

The car (and everything else) is loaded in the trailer, I'm getting ready to go to Gateway now.

There weren't alot of racers there getting set up in the pits today.
Maybe 20 to 25 cars total when I left at about 6 pm.

A couple of vendors had set up (Edelbrock and about 3 or 4 others).

It was Dennis Merkt's injected Nitro FED, he was going to be one of the exhibition cars this weekend.

Ouch! Yeah, I don't particularly like the containment set up at Gateway myself. If you make it through the catch nets the next thing up are the Hesco barrels against the wall for the perimeter road. Wish they would close the road and extend the sand trap out another couple of hundred feet or so. Traffic could be rerouted around the back of the pits or make it a bridge or tunnel or something like that.

Wow. I hope the pits fill up a little more by Saturday.
