OK,

Pretty basic until you don't know:
1966 Barracuda with washer pump motor not a foot pump. How many speeds? This car has the wiper motor that looks like a 3speed motor from a 70's car and my switch control has a variable position and then 2 speeds I think... its hard to tell as mine has it's own soul. I thought the units were only a 2 speed or a 3 speed? The 2 speed like the one in my 72 Demon (a big hump and a ballast resistor on the unit) and the 3 speed was flat and the motor portion ran flush with the fire wall.

Any one have a picture of theirs to verify what I have? Mine works at random like it is on perminate delay. I hear the clicking in the switch when it wants to work. Not much room under the dash to play. Also if the switch is gone... where to find a good one? If the motor is gone, how hard to replace? My car has no A/C.

Thanks,
Joe

First check the ground. Early A-bodies were also available with a single speed wiper motor, but I'm not sure what years they were available.

I sure this does not have a single but good to know. Mine acts like it has a bad switch; I replaced the head light switch already and huge difference to how stuff works. I also added a set of relays and some really good head lights and its a world of difference... that's another story.

Any one else have info on the wiper set up?

Joe

Like I said, check the ground. Wiper motors have a brass strap for the ground. The ground will be on one of the mounting studs

I added a variable speed wiper setup to my 65 dart. iirc it has 2 pairs of 2 wires (4 wires) to the motor itself and the single speed had 2 wires.

Such a widespread problem, I always add an extra.

In 66 Barracudas, single speed wipers were standard; variable speed wipers with windshield washers were optional.
