I am working on a 72 Challenger and I have 71 Challenger front seats in it that need to be redone.I will probably buy the seat covers through Year 1. My question is will the 72 seat covers fit the 71 frame and cushions?
Thanks Ray

Nope, won't fit right. And buy legendary, not year one.

70 and early 71 had the springs attached to the seat frames. Sometime in 71 up to 74, the springs are built into the foam. So check and see which style you have. As far as fit, do you plan to reuse the foam and are the covers the same style as the old ones?

Going from 71 houndstooth to 72 rally style.

I believe the foam would be different if they are the style I'm thinking of. But you need to check for the spring style in the frames/foam.

Thanks for the reply. I think your right I will have to get the 72 seats and go from there.
Thanks again.

If you can find good cores, foam wise, you'd be further ahead... as much as foam costs, you can almost buy a pair. Also the 70-71 seat cores would be worth more than the later ones. So I wouldn't modify them if that's the case.
