After about 16 passes, I had about 16 ounces of oil in the catch can. Is an ounce of oil too much per run, or about right?
1/8 mile shifting at 6700 rpm.

I can go about 60 runs then I drain out about 10 oz but I have a good baffle and the vac is at 12"hg EDIT This is on a dry sump system... when I ran a vac pump on a normal oiling system it was the same

Had a similar problem ...much more collected each run, than 1 oz....installed restrictors to 440-1 head .030.. welded baffle @ suction side fitting.....approx. 1-2 tablespoons per run.. all fixed.. make sure no leaks as mentioned earlier...use evap smoke diagnosis tool works great for leak detection
The 1st time I mounted mine I was puling from the fuel pump block off area. It has a Jessel so I thought it would work, wrong. It didn't even make it out of the garage with out blowing oil out of the can. I relocated to the front of the valve cover. Made 5 full passes, 2 1/8 passes. not even 1oz in the can. No baffles in the cover. Doug

I was plagued with this issue. Had a pickup line in the front of the valve cover. Make a run and oil running out of the 1 pint tank. Dealt with it for a long time.
Started shutting off on top end to pull back to the trailer. Not hardly a drop of oil if I killed the engine quick enough when the chute opened. So it worked out for a while until we burnt a piston then you would have a full tank.
I ran the Moroso on the NA engine as well but did not tow back. As long as I killed the engine before stabbing the brakes all was fine. I later went with a star pump and it pulled a lot more vacuum at idle. Funny I saw less oil in the tank with more vacuum.
Had a lifter bushing issue and Ryan had to replace them. After that we had a lot more oil up top. Then back to dumping the puke tank every run. I wanted to come up with another pick up point in the middle of the valve cover this way taking off or stopping would not rush oil to the baffle. Then I had plans of running a tank in between the motor and the pump. Only thing was I planned to remove the pet cock to drain it and just run a #4 back to the pan so it would self drain the tank between runs. Then any junk would still go to the normal puke tank. Never got around to it.
Run a dry sump now and do not have the vacuum I desire. So maybe getting into this again.
