Hi guys, I started looking for some chrome bumpers and see that most sellers on ebay are actually pretty honest in saying aftermarket ones made by goodmark, AMD, and a few others are NOT show quality and are only good driver bumpers. With that said, I have also head that getting a bumper from Bumper Boyz is not good quality either. A lot of folks seem to like Tri-city plating.

Has anyone seen up close the aftermarket bumpers I first mentioned? Are they that bad? What's the issue? Scratches, waves, poor quality chrome? junk?

What car do you have? A few guys on CC.com just installed AMD bumpers and like them a lot. Keystone bumpers are suppossed to have nicer chrome then the AMD's. The cores are made in China but they are chromed in Wisconsin. Talk to Dave at Rosevillemoparts.com about them. The set I got from him looked really nice but my bumper guards didn't fit.

I had my origianl bumpers and guards done at Tri-City. The chrome looks nice but seems to be brittle. The chrome on the guards cracked as I was tightening them to the bumpers. Tri-City redid them for free and I was a little more careful when I installed them the second time.

They are for a 70 challenger, is cc.com the Cuda challenger forum? Thank you for the info. Anyone else have any luck or see them first hand?

Any idea of what the name of the business is?

Not many shops if any around here will or has the capacity to do them. One local guy I used a couple years ago took 7 months with excuses after excuses.....

I haven't used repro challenger bumpers, but I used AMD bumpers for a 68 Road Runner and am very pleased. They fit and look very good. No complaints about the chrome. Can't beat them for the money

you may be put off by the price at tri city plating, i was at first, but you will not find a flaw in the bumper. i have never met a person with a bad word, or saw a bumper with a blem from them. it killed my budget to get my first set done by them, however those bumpers made the car. they looked better than all the other stainless trim and chrome mirrors/emblems by far.

i bought a bumper from Tamraz a couple years ago. it was a AMD.

i was not happy with the bumper and contacted both companies owners.

there responses was just as disapointing. i paid the big bucks for shipping to return it.

had a good experience with some bumpers i got from year one about 5 years ago.

tri city was the same price as bumperboyz when I ordered My bumpers for a 67 R/T. I dealt with BB before and had one problem they fixed with no questions. Happy with their product. Never heard anything bad about tri city. Didn't order from them as I would have to ship, wait, and BB is off the shelf. I don't go over every square inch of the bumpers with a magnifying glass..if it's covered with shiny chrome, I'm happy.
