68 charger - door skin - Problem; Driver door - removed the window and frame assembly. While loosening the pinch screw (the little allen wrench set screw reached thru the small hole near the remote mirror on the inside), I heard a clink and after removal discovered a metal tab on the outer skin side of the door had broken off and fell inside the door. Any suggestions on how to fix? Please!!!!

The tab that fell off is actually the nut for the allen screw. It is not supposed to be attached. The allen screw goes through the vent window frame and the tab goes behind two vertical peices of the door skin. Sorry for the bad explanation. Maybe someone has a picture?

been a while since I've been inside a door, but I'm guessing this might have been spot welded? give JB Weld a shotunless someone has a better idea.

No, not spot welded. Its like a caged nut, a rectangular 1/4" thick piece of steel with a threaded hole in the middle. Yes, it is part of the vent window attachment at the post. It slides into a slot as mentioned above.
