Special tools for removal/installation of the trans rear shaft seal are pictured in the FSM - what other more common tools may be substituted in their place - and does anyone have any good tips to ease in the re-assembly?

Tailshaft seal?
This is an easy seal to R&R. There is a metal lip around the circumference, just insert a small screwdriver and pry in few locations around it. It'll come out.

Last time I put one in I used a short length of exhaust pipe that had the same diameter as the lip. Gently drive it in. You could also use a wood block.

He's BAAAAACK......
