Since my primary motor (vintage circle track racing) is kaput, I am trying to rush a back up engine into service. I put a Kevko rear sump oil pan on it, along with their pickup. Their pickup plugs the normal hole and runs the pickup off the cover. The original cover inside has two carved out areas, the Kevin cover is smooth. Just being careful, is this a problem at all?

I dont think so but for peace of mind you might go to www.moparchat.com then scroll down to & click on "circle track chat" & post there. I've wanted to get that setup, if it's 1/2" NPT? I'm assuming it's made for the OE pump body & not just as a replacement part for the Kevko pump which if so would further confirm there's no problem. Might be for lube or anticavitation.

I wanna make one out of a piece of thick flat stock & tap it for NPT in the right spot. Is the Kevko piece 1/2 NPT? I bet it's pricey. EDIT While in there you might peruse Sanborns oiling & cooling mods that are in a sticky at the top of the page (for good reason). He's one of the countries' foremost SB oiling & cooling experts & alot of that info can be adapted to BB's as well

It may be ugly, but it sure is slow.

Girls comb their hair in rear view mirrors and the boys try to look so hard....
