70satelliteguy OP pro stock 7 Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 1,301 Penna	I am getting ready to order an oil pan and pick up for my 440 . I measured the diameter of the threads on my block and they are .75. Is this for a 3/8 or 1/2 in. pick up? Thanks Mike

JohnRR I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 75,106 A Banana Republic near you.	Pipe threads are tapered so the size at athe top is bigger than the size at the bottom . what is the engine and it's history , only hemis had 1/2 NPT pickup tubes , everything else is 3/8 ... unless someone modified it .

Thanks Mike I have both size taps, the 3/8 NPT is .550 on the small end and .634 on the big end outside diamter of the threads. The 1/2 NPT is .705 on the tip and .850 on the big end outside diameter. IHTHs Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

"If the threads in the block measure .750" it's 1/2" pipe," Guess I will order a 1/2 in pickup!! Thanks for the reply's Mike
