Last time I ran it was around 1980. Had direct port set up on the manifold, one nozzle for NOS and one for fuel in each runner. Worked well and had the tank in the trunk. I am sure it was crude in relation to the current technology of solenoids and delivery, but it did the trick. I was younger then and more careless, so never thought of any consequences.

Fast forward to now, thinking of revisiting NOS, but more cautious. How safe is it really? I see some cars due to fuel cells and batteries in the trunk now have it in the passenger compartment. Is that wise? What can happen in some kind of accident, not racing, but just driving.

Current nitrous bottles have pressure relief valves and are required. Of course, that doesn't mean some don't have the older ones.

OK, that seems like a good precaution, makes it safer, that stuff is nasty. Thanks.

the base plate will hide most if not all of that. I'm also going to cover the gas/NO2 lines w/ rubber hose. The soleniods will be back almost under the intake mounted on the back rail.

I used two have two kits on my old Pro street 69 Charger with two bottles in the trunk. One on the left side was just a dummy bottle & line running up over the wheel tubs. The second kit I had the real bottle hidden up under the dash like you mention. Never had a tech official at the track look up under the dash at all for a blow off tube. Did this for the street when competitors wanted me to run on motor only they saw me removing the bottles out of the trunk.

You still could...just vent it out of a hole in the firewall. And the vent is just required for track tech....it's very, very unlikely to blow off while your driving or racing. It's more likely to happen when your car is parked and sitting in a 120 degree garage or out in the sun in the summer (depending on where you live).

just my ....

No, Sorry no pictures of it up under the dash. Only pictures I can even find of the old car itself.

I've heard it's very addictive. That's why I just say no to N2O.

Yes, it is very addicting. I have 2 foggers waiting to go on my current Challenger Drag Radial car, another dual stage cross plate for some thing else someday & several other 4150 & 4500 Dominator plate kits that go back & forth between mine & buddies cars.

A friend of mine had a 93 Mustang back in the day and he drilled and tapped the bottom of his intake runners and plumbed the nozzle into the bottom of the intake ports. There was a divider at the middle point of the intake on the bottom that hung down and hid everything from sight if you were looking at the engine from the front, the side of the intake was so close to the valve cover that it was hidden from the side and you could not lean over far enough to see it from the back. He ran all of the lines through the trans tunnel and hid the bottle in a subwoofer box in the hatch. He made some good money street racing.
