Im doing the drum to disc swap on my 67 Dart and have come across a big problem.
When installing the upper ball joint I noticed that when i could absolutely not screw it in any further, the dam thing was cocked sideways! Link to pic Crooked Joint

The left side is about 1/8" from where it should be seated. Sadly didnt see it till i had pretty much finished that side. So before i even started the other side, i test fit the other ball joint in the other control arm, and to my surprise, i couldnt even get the ball joint into the arm far enough for the threads to catch!

So would my only course of action at this point be to buy another set of control arms? Is their any possibility of welding and re-tapping the threads? The Old joints did need a good bit of force to come out as they were drenched in thread locker of some kind.

I had the same problem on my Bee. After I got the old ball joints out there were no threads left. I had to buy a new set of control arms. I went with a set of magnum force tubular control arms and they are really nice pices.

Did you use the upper arm's from the donor car or are you trying to screw the bigger ball joint's into the existing arm's?

u can buy the ball joint sockets and weld them in the uca. then it doesn't matter which uca u have. make them the big ones or the smaller ones.
