The shaft is 1/2" , in the hardware section at a REAL hardware store , like an ACE or True Value, where they have the bolts and other clips and such they have a bin with bronze shaft bushings, there is only 1 or 2 that are 1/2" ID . the length is around and 1".

Bumbalawski OP enthusiast Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 318 Beans Cove Pa	I went up to Lowes today. The bushings were there like Bill had said. They are 1/2"X5/8"X1 1/8"(.500"X.625"X1.125"). They were $2.69 each. Lowes item number is 215749 and model number is 882746.
