I got a new set of Metro rear panels for my Challenger. There is a difference from my originals. The new ones have a screw hole that is on top of the panel in front of where the metal headliner trim comes down. My old ones had a screw hole that was to the rear of the trim. I have seem pictures online of the panels in original cars that had holes that matched the new panels.

There does not seem to be anything in my car to screw the panel to. Is there a bracket that is welded there? Does anyone have a picture?

Thanks,

Michael

On my 73, there is an extra bracket for that screw. It mounts to the inner structure with a philips head screw. I'm not sure if I have a pic or not.

Found one that shows it. It's on the right side of the picture. I don't know if 1970 used it or not.

One 1970 Challenger I looked had had the forward screw hole on one side only.

Thanks, that is exactly the picture I am looking for. It looks like I will have to make similar brackets. Any chance you could give me the measurements of the bracket and the location of the hole?

Thanks,

Michael

If the interior wasn't already installed I'd be glad to. There are a few E-bodies being parted out over on forebodiesonly. I'm sure someone would have those brackets. They fall right into place as long as the inner structure of the car is stamped for them.

Ok. Thanks for the picture though. That was a great help.
