I have a 1st gen Dart project I'm considering making a Kit Car styled ride out of... kinda short / dirt track. Who has seen the original Kit Car plans, or has any experience with Kit Cars? I'd like to know more about how they were built, what parts, modifivations, etc.

Thnx, Mike in FL

Hey Mike, long time no see. Hope life in Flroida is good for ya.

Do a search on here in the plymouth stock cars thread by user BHA43. He has recently purchased a complete, unassembled kit car and has posted a number of pictures. He does have the blueprints, but they are in such poor shape they are not able to be reproduced.

You can also find more info on his purchese over on http://www.aspenandvolare.com Same user name over there. He has enough photos that you can get a decent idea of what these cages looked like.

One idea I had recently is that with the proliferation of reproduction E body sheetmetal, you could reproduce a copy of the Kit Car for around $3000 worth of repop parts, plus a mild steel cage kit from Speedway Motors and a few used parts you can find on here. User brads70 even documented a C body spindle/rotor conversion that is right in line of the spirit of the kit car. This thread is pinned over on http://cuda-challenger.com .

My brother may have a set of plans.
We built our cars off them in the 70's-early 80's when we campaigned 3 dirt cars 2 A body's & 1 E
A guy who we bought parts from was Direct Connected to PE & he got them for us as well as a bunch of other stuff leftover from the last Dodge the King raced before going GM

I'd be interested in a set of plans if you can reproduce them.

Thnx everyone for the replies.

Tony, It has been a long time! We're good, and you? PM me your phone and email addy, would love to talk soon. I'll be looking up and bookmarking those threads, thnx.

Bullet Bob, count me in on being interested in copies of the plans. It's been a few days since you commented, have you had a chance to check with your brother yet? If they can be scanned, I can have them printed locally.
